This study tested whether combining albumin levels with other blood markers (like CRP, procalcitonin, and lactate) could better predict which sepsis patients in the surgical ICU are at higher risk of dying within 28 days. Researchers looked at data from 30 patients to see if these ratios were more accurate than traditional tests alone. The goal was to help doctors identify high-risk patients sooner and tailor their care.
