NCT ID NCT07021482
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the air pressure used in the belly during gallbladder surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) causes swelling in the throat. 66 adults having planned gallbladder surgery were randomly assigned to either a lower or standard belly pressure. Researchers used ultrasound to measure throat tissue thickness before and after the procedure to see if higher pressure leads to more swelling, which could affect breathing tube removal.
