Inhaler mistakes cost lives: new study aims to fix them

NCT ID NCT07264140

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a structured program led by physiotherapists can help people with COPD use their inhalers correctly. Many patients make mistakes that prevent the medicine from reaching their lungs, leading to worse symptoms and more flare-ups. Over 12 months, 116 participants will either get the program or continue with usual care. The goal is to see if the program reduces inhaler misuse and improves breathing and quality of life.
