AI-Powered app aims to ease dementia care decisions
NCT ID NCT06292143
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study will test a digital platform called the Dementia Journey Companion (DJC) that helps people with dementia and their caregivers plan future care. Researchers will enroll 150 participants with mild to moderate dementia living at home or in care facilities. The study focuses on whether the tool is easy to use and helpful, not on curing dementia.

- Advance Care Planning Toolkit (digital platform)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this digital tool could help dementia patients and their families make better care decisions, potentially improving quality of life and reducing stress.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study (150 participants) testing feasibility, not effectiveness. The tool may not be helpful for everyone, and technical issues or user burden could limit its use.
