AI takes on cancer: can computers outdraw doctors for safer radiation?
NCT ID NCT05787522
Summary
This study tested whether new AI software could help doctors plan radiation therapy for lung, breast, and esophageal cancer more quickly and accurately. Researchers compared three methods for outlining organs on patient CT scans: doctors drawing by hand, the AI drawing alone, and doctors using the AI's drawing as a starting point. They measured how close each drawing was to an expert's 'perfect' outline and how long each method took.
