AI eye exam: robot vs. doctor in Sight-Saving showdown
NCT ID NCT07096232
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compares an artificial intelligence (AI) system called AEYE to a human eye specialist in diagnosing keratoconus (a condition that thins the cornea) and deciding if someone is a good candidate for laser eye surgery. Researchers will use 50 real patient cases to see if the AI can match the doctor's accuracy. If successful, this AI could help make eye exams more consistent and reduce the risk of complications from surgery.
