AI eye test: could a computer beat your eye doctor at diagnosing a rare cornea disease?
NCT ID NCT07096232
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study compares an artificial intelligence (AI) system called AEYE to a human eye doctor in diagnosing keratoconus, a condition that can make laser eye surgery risky. Researchers will use 50 real patient cases to see if the AI can match or beat the doctor's accuracy. If successful, the AI could help standardize screening and improve safety for people considering vision correction surgery.
