AI takes on ventilator settings for critically ill kids
NCT ID NCT07592039
First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether an AI system could help doctors make better decisions about ventilator settings for children (ages 1 month to 18 years) in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). The goal was to see if AI-guided care could increase the number of days children spend off a breathing machine within 28 days. Researchers compared AI recommendations to standard care from medical staff, using data from 2000 patients.
