AI boosts skin diagnosis accuracy in small study
NCT ID NCT07428954
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help 16 doctors (10 general practitioners and 6 skin specialists) more accurately diagnose 13 different skin conditions, including rashes, infections, and skin cancer. Doctors first gave a diagnosis based on images and patient history, then saw the AI's suggestions and could change their answer. The goal was to see if AI support improves accuracy and reduces the need for specialist referrals.
