AI could predict when a heart stops again – and save lives

NCT ID NCT07452016

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests a new artificial intelligence tool that reads heart tracings (ECG) to predict if someone who just survived a cardiac arrest will have another one. Researchers will first see if emergency responders can use the device in simulated emergencies, then check its accuracy in real patients without changing their care. The goal is to help responders act faster and improve survival after cardiac arrest.
