First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study is testing a smartphone app that uses artificial intelligence to help people with oral cancer manage symptoms, improve communication, and return to work. The app includes a chatbot for emotional support, posture correction exercises, and a communication aid. Researchers will compare patients who use the app to those who receive standard care, tracking their progress for one year. The goal is to see if the app improves quality of life and helps patients get back to their jobs.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Artificial Intelligence Assisted Prehabilitation Program Application (AI APP)
What this could lead to
If successful, this AI app could provide a practical tool to help oral cancer patients manage physical and emotional challenges, improve communication, and return to work more effectively.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study focused on developing and testing the app, so it is not yet proven to work. The results may not apply to all patients, and the app's benefits may be limited.
