NCT ID NCT05482269

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study is building an artificial intelligence tool that analyzes CT scans of the lungs to predict which patients with acute pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) are at risk of serious complications like death or needing a breathing machine. Researchers will study 2,000 adults diagnosed with pulmonary embolism to see if the AI can accurately forecast these dangerous events within 30 days and up to 2 years after hospital admission. The goal is to help doctors make faster, more informed treatment decisions.
