First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) could predict difficult intubation (placing a breathing tube) better than traditional physical exams. Researchers collected data from 250 adults undergoing general anesthesia, including measurements and photos. They trained AI models to predict difficulty and compared results to standard methods. The goal is to improve patient safety by identifying high-risk patients before surgery.
