AI vs doctors: can computers help nurses match physician care?

NCT ID NCT07432893

Summary

This study is testing whether nurses using artificial intelligence (AI) tools can provide medical care that's as good as standard doctor visits for common conditions. About 670 adults in rural India with issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, fever, or breathing problems will receive two back-to-back consultations - one with an AI-assisted nurse and one with a doctor. Researchers will compare the quality of care and ask patients about their experience to see if this approach could help address doctor shortages.
