AI reads MRI scans to spot hidden sarcomas

NCT ID NCT06073314

First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) can help doctors tell the difference between cancerous and non-cancerous soft tissue lumps using MRI scans. 186 patients with soft tissue masses had extra MRI images taken. The AI was trained to identify which lumps were sarcoma and how aggressive they were. The goal is to make diagnosis faster and more accurate without needing a biopsy every time.
