AI cuts 10-Day radiation wait for cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04976205

Summary

This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) could make a complex type of radiation therapy faster and more precise. The radiation is used to prepare patients with blood cancers for a bone marrow transplant. Researchers used AI to automate the planning process, which normally takes about 10 days, and combined MRI and CT scans to better target the treatment.
