First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at whether artificial intelligence (AI) and fluorescence imaging can help less experienced surgeons find the bile duct during gallbladder removal. Eight surgical trainees at different skill levels watched videos of the surgery and tried to identify the bile duct, with and without AI help. The goal was to see if AI improves accuracy and safety for newer surgeons.
