AI coach beats paper workout for knee pain relief

NCT ID NCT07434011

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted exercise app can reduce pain and improve knee function better than a standard paper exercise program. About 84 adults with knee osteoarthritis will use either the AI app or a paper handout for 6 weeks. The AI app adjusts exercises based on each person's reported pain and effort, aiming to make home exercise more effective and easier to stick with.
