Your watch could spot a hidden heart problem

NCT ID NCT06290570

Summary

This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence (AI) program can accurately detect a serious heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) using different types of electrocardiogram (ECG) devices. Researchers are comparing ECGs from standard medical machines with those from consumer devices like the Apple Watch and KardiaMobile. The goal is to see if these more accessible devices, combined with AI, can reliably spot HCM and distinguish it from the normal, healthy heart changes seen in athletes.
