Can a camera see delirium coming? AI study aims to predict patient confusion
NCT ID NCT07337356
Summary
This study aims to develop an early warning system for delirium, a common and serious state of confusion in hospitalized patients. Researchers will use a camera and artificial intelligence to analyze subtle facial expressions in adult ICU patients, looking for signs that might predict who will develop delirium. The goal is to create a tool that helps doctors spot and address delirium risk earlier than current manual methods allow.
