First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tested an artificial intelligence (AI) model to see if it could correctly identify important body structures in ultrasound images used for nerve blocks. Researchers collected 1,000 images from 1,000 adults and had both the AI and human experts mark the structures. The goal was to measure how accurate the AI was compared to experts, and how fast it could work. This is a knowledge-gathering study, not a treatment.
