AI watches over brain surgery to train the next generation

NCT ID NCT07568366

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether artificial intelligence can help surgical teams during pituitary tumor removal surgery performed through the nose. The AI watches live video of the operation and shows information about anatomy and surgical steps on tablets for residents and nurses, without distracting the lead surgeon. About 30 adult patients will take part to see if the system is feasible and safe to use in the operating room.
