NCT ID NCT05843994

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study is creating an artificial intelligence (AI) app that can detect a dangerous type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) from photos taken by patients or their families. The app is designed for people with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB), a rare genetic condition that causes fragile, blistering skin and a high risk of aggressive skin cancer. By catching SCCs early, the app aims to improve treatment outcomes and give patients a convenient tool to monitor their skin at home.
