AI warnings aim to keep surgery patients out of ICU
NCT ID NCT03974828
Summary
This study tested whether sending artificial intelligence (AI) risk alerts to doctors caring for patients right after surgery could help prevent serious complications. The AI was designed to predict which patients were at highest risk for problems like unplanned ICU admission, kidney injury, or death. The goal was to see if giving doctors this early warning would help them take action to keep patients safer during recovery.
