This study tested whether making doctors more aware of the negative outcomes of opioid use (like overdoses) would lead them to prescribe fewer opioids. Researchers sent letters to 61 clinicians highlighting patient harms. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce high-dose opioid prescribing and help fight the opioid epidemic.
