First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a device called AeroPace in 120 adults who have been on a breathing machine for at least 4 days and have not been able to breathe on their own. The device is designed to help strengthen the diaphragm, the main muscle used for breathing. Researchers will track how many patients successfully stop using the ventilator within 30 days and monitor any serious side effects.
