Summary
This study looked at how the adrenal glands work in people who are critically ill, such as those with sepsis. The goal was to better understand a condition called adrenal insufficiency, where the body doesn't make enough stress hormones. Researchers measured hormone levels in 225 participants to help develop better tests for this condition.
