Tiny beads vs. pills: new approach for Hormone-Driven high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT05561361

Summary

This study is testing whether a minimally invasive procedure called superselective adrenal artery embolization works as well as or better than standard medication (spironolactone) for people with primary aldosteronism, a hormone condition causing hard-to-control high blood pressure. The procedure involves blocking tiny arteries to the adrenal glands using small particles. Researchers will measure how well blood vessels relax and hormone levels improve in 200 participants who are randomly assigned to receive either the procedure or medication.
