New adjustable sockets aim to improve life for amputees

NCT ID NCT04038580

Summary

This study compared different types of prosthetic sockets for people with above-knee leg amputations. Researchers tested whether adjustable sockets were more comfortable and helped people move better than their standard, custom-made sockets. Twenty-nine participants tried their usual socket and three different adjustable designs to see which worked best for daily life and mobility.
