New eye camera reveals hidden clues in rare retinal disorders

NCT ID NCT05386134

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study uses a special camera (adaptive optics) to take detailed pictures of the back of the eye in people with inherited retinal diseases. Researchers want to understand how the disease affects light-sensing cells and blood vessels. The goal is to find better ways to track disease progression and measure treatment effects. About 200 participants aged 5 to 70 will be observed over time.
