Could fewer immunotherapy doses be enough for some melanoma patients?

NCT ID NCT03122522

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is for people with advanced melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery. It tests a flexible approach to giving two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab). Instead of always giving four doses, doctors will check after two doses. If the tumor is shrinking, no more doses may be needed. If not, patients can get more doses, even beyond the usual four. The goal is to see if this personalized dosing works as well or better than the standard schedule.
