First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested a new clot-removal method called ADAPT for people having a severe stroke caused by a large blood clot in the brain. The goal was to see if using a suction tube first could open the blocked artery better than the standard method using a stent-like device. 381 adults with stroke were enrolled, and the study compared how often complete blood flow was restored with each technique.
