First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested a newer method called ADAPT that uses suction to remove blood clots from the brain during a stroke. It involved 381 adults with large-vessel blockages treated within 6 hours of symptoms. The goal was to see if ADAPT could restore blood flow more completely than the standard stent-retriever approach.
