Scientists test if standard drug doses work for obese patients
NCT ID NCT05589688
Summary
This study aims to understand how body composition, specifically lean muscle mass, affects how the antiviral drug acyclovir is processed and eliminated by the kidneys. Researchers will enroll 20 healthy volunteers across four different body mass index (BMI) groups to measure drug levels in their blood and urine. The goal is to gather data to help doctors prescribe more accurate and effective doses for patients who are overweight or obese.
