Acupuncture needles may ease pain for kidney donors

Summary
This study tested whether thread embedding acupuncture (placing a tiny thread under the skin at a specific back point) can reduce pain and improve quality of life after laparoscopic kidney donation surgery. 32 healthy kidney donors took part. Half received the real acupuncture plus standard pain care, and half received a sham (fake) version plus standard care. The goal was to see if the acupuncture provided extra pain relief beyond usual treatment.
