NCT ID NCT07178756

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 41 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding acupuncture to standard care (painkillers and physical therapy) helps people recover better after hip fracture surgery. Ninety adults aged 40–99 will be split into two groups: one gets standard care alone, the other gets standard care plus acupuncture twice a week for four weeks. Researchers will measure pain, hip function, and muscle strength over a year to see if acupuncture makes a difference.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a drug-free way to reduce pain and speed up recovery after hip fracture surgery.
