First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether acupuncture can ease chronic constipation. 72 adults with long-term constipation will get either manual acupuncture or electroacupuncture (with a mild electric current) three times a week for 12 weeks. The goal is to see which method increases the number of complete, spontaneous bowel movements and understand how it works.
