Gentle touch therapy shows promise for elderly sleep woes
NCT ID NCT07277725
Summary
This study tested whether acupressure—applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body—could improve sleep for elderly people living in care centers. Researchers worked with 75 residents, giving 38 of them 12 sessions of acupressure over four weeks while comparing their results to a group that did not receive the treatment. The results showed that those who received acupressure reported better sleep quality, fell asleep faster, and felt less sleepy during the day.
