First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (a non-needle technique) can improve sleep in 104 elderly patients after abdominal surgery under general anesthesia. The main goal was to measure total sleep time on the first night after surgery. The approach is based on acupuncture principles and aims to ease sleep disturbances that can slow recovery.
