Zap to relax? electrical skin patches tested to ease medical procedure

NCT ID NCT07440342

Summary

This study is testing if a non-invasive therapy using mild electrical stimulation on specific points of the skin can help patients better tolerate a complex digestive procedure called ERCP. Researchers want to see if this method, used alongside standard sedative drugs, reduces side effects like low blood pressure or breathing problems, improves comfort, and leads to faster recovery. About 130 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a fake version that looks the same.
