Scientists probe blood fats for clues to acne severity

NCT ID NCT07250880

First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether certain fat molecules (ceramides and sphingosine-1-phosphate) in the blood are different in people with acne compared to healthy people. Researchers will collect blood samples from 80 participants (40 with acne and 40 without) to measure these molecules. The goal is to better understand what causes acne and why it varies in severity.
