Blood test may predict achalasia severity
NCT ID NCT07451301
Summary
This study aimed to understand if specific antibodies found in the blood of people with achalasia are linked to how severe their condition is. Researchers looked at 195 adults with achalasia to see if higher levels of these antibodies correlated with worse symptoms, more esophageal damage, and poorer responses to a standard treatment called POEM. The goal was to see if this antibody test could one day help doctors identify patients with more aggressive disease.
