Blood test may predict achalasia severity
NCT ID NCT07451301
Summary
This study aimed to understand if specific antibodies found in the blood of people with achalasia are linked to how severe their condition is. Researchers looked at 195 patients to see if higher levels of these antibodies were connected to worse symptoms, more esophageal damage, and poorer results after a common treatment called POEM. The goal was to find a potential blood marker to help identify patients with a more aggressive form of the disease.
