First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding acetazolamide or metolazone to standard diuretic therapy helps people with acute decompensated heart failure get rid of excess fluid faster and leave the hospital sooner. About 320 adults with severe fluid overload will be randomly assigned to one of the two drugs. The goal is to see which option is safer and more effective at reducing hospital stays and preventing kidney problems.
