First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested a drug called acetazolamide in 50 adults with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up in the brain and causes walking problems. Participants received either the drug or a placebo from diagnosis until their scheduled shunt surgery. The goal was to see if the drug improves gait and to understand how it works.
