Sleep apnea pill tested in search for better breathing

NCT ID NCT04726982

Summary

This study tested whether a medication called acetazolamide could help control obstructive sleep apnea. Researchers compared two different doses of the drug against a placebo pill in 91 adults with moderate to severe sleep apnea. After four weeks, they measured changes in breathing pauses during sleep, oxygen levels, and daytime sleepiness to see which dose worked best.
