NCT ID NCT07424690

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat atrial fibrillation (a common heart rhythm problem) in people aged 78 and older. One approach is a procedure called catheter ablation, which targets the heart's faulty electrical signals. The other is medication to control heart rate or rhythm. The goal is to see which strategy improves quality of life more and reduces serious health events like stroke or heart failure. About 282 participants will be followed for two years.
