Simple breathing tools may speed lung recovery after bypass surgery

NCT ID NCT07337746

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two breathing devices—Acapella and incentive spirometry—can improve lung function and oxygen levels in adults after coronary artery bypass surgery. One hundred participants will use the devices for 10-15 minutes twice a day, starting the day before surgery and continuing for three days after. The goal is to see which device works better at helping patients breathe easier and recover faster.
