Gentle touch for tummy troubles: massage tested for sickest babies
NCT ID NCT04841174
Summary
This study tested whether gentle abdominal massage could help reduce stomach problems in babies (1-24 months old) who are critically ill, on a ventilator, and receiving nutrition through a feeding tube. Researchers compared babies who received the massage to those who did not, looking at issues like vomiting, bloating, and digestion. The goal was to see if this simple, non-drug method could improve feeding tolerance and comfort for these vulnerable infants.
