Gentle touch for tummy troubles: massage tested in ICU babies

NCT ID NCT04841174

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle abdominal massage could help reduce stomach problems in babies who are critically ill, on a ventilator, and being fed through a tube. Researchers compared 24 babies aged 1-24 months, with half receiving the massage and half receiving standard care. They measured outcomes like vomiting, stomach bloating, and bowel movements to see if the massage improved feeding tolerance.
